| The Historic Inventory
of St. Louis County Buildings
Since 1957, the St. Louis County Historic Buildings Commission has been identifying and
studying old buildings throughout the county. As of 1999, we have information about more than
4,600 buildings on standardized Historic Inventory forms. The following program allows you to
locate these buildings in one of several ways and to learn some basic information about them.

The following fields of information are available:
Locator number (assigned by the county assessor)
Present name: The name of the first owner or other historical name by which the
building is known
Other name: The street address
Specific location: For buildings in towns, the subdivision name, lot number and
block number; for rural buildings, the section or survey number, congressional
township, and range, or other land subdivision.
City or town; if Rural, Township & Vicinity
On National Register? yes or no
Part of Established Historic District? yes or no
Date(s) or Period: The actual date of construction taken from a building permit,
or an estimated date, indicated by "c" for "circa."
Style or Design: The architectural style of the building
Architect or Engineer:
Contractor or Builder:
Original Use, if apparent
